The Bake Shop

Located in Williamsburg, Virginia. The Bake Shop is inspired by our team’s passion for bread, coffee, and all things delicious! Led by our head baker, Jim “Goody” Goodman, our team is dedicated to the art of hand crafting baked goods that are inspired by the seasons.

From what started as a passion project in our sister restaurant, the Amber Ox Public House, our approach to hand crafted baked goods and pastries has always been inspired by our love for the art of bread making. In a world where artisan baked goods are becoming a relic, we are dedicated to bringing our community wholesome, crafted, and highly inspired baked goods daily!

In addition to our love for baked goods, we also have an equal love and affection for delicious coffee! Featuring single origin coffees from small fair trade coffee producers, roasted by our region’s best coffee roasters. Led by our front of house manager and resident coffee expert, Beka Olson, our coffee program at The Bake Shop is nothing short of amazing.

"One of the best breakfast places in Williamsburg. Excellent bagels (I got the plain bagel) and spreads (I got the veggie). They give plenty of spread and it’s relatively cheap. You will be waiting a while though if you go on a weekend morning (up to 30 mins) to order. Once you’ve ordered though, service is fast."

"Was running errands and was headed to another place for coffee but stopped here. Was nice to see a bakery that offered more than just sweet items to enjoy. My daughter and I ordered bagel w/ cream cheese, focaccia, a sticky bun and a maple coffee. Total was around $30. My daughter said she enjoyed the bagel as if was fluffy and fresh. The focaccia was good when I took it home to heat it up. I added some extra olive oil and artichokes to it and it was yummy. Definitely made fresh. I got the sticky bun for the husb’s, he eats everything sweet and ate it so quick couldn’t get a question out so I’m sure that was delicious too. My only sad face goes to the coffee. The size was to small for a real coffee drinker like myself and it was not a very strong roast. I asked for 3 shots and told I’d be charged for 4, so I said just give it all to me since I’m paying. I assumed it would be very strong, but it wasn’t. Very light actually with just a hint of maple. I definitely want to go back and try another roast because maybe it was just that coffee. I loved the all the options they had and I’ll definitely go back."
